Cologne's Most Authentic
Brewery Tour

Over ten years ago, we had a simple idea: we wanted to show Cologne the way we would show it to our friends.

Since then, we've been guiding individual guests, groups of friends, international visitors, and companies through Cologne's Old Town and its traditional brewhouses.

No pre-recorded tours. Instead, our guides have heart, their own stories, their own favorite spots, their own favorite Kölsch, and a genuine connection to their city.

How does a

Brewery Tour

work?

1. Meet directly at the Cathedral

The tour starts at the Kreuzblume (monument) at Cologne Cathedral, just a few steps from the main train station. The meeting point is central, easy to find, and hard to miss. There you'll meet your guide and get a brief overview of the tour's itinerary.

2. Two Hours of Kölsch & Culture

During the tour, you'll typically visit three to four traditional brewhouses like Früh am Dom, Sion, Gilden, or Päffgen. You'll sample different Kölsch beers, learn more about the brewing culture, and discover Cologne's unique characteristics. Expect exciting stories, humor, and local insider knowledge.

3. Old Town Highlights Included

Between brewery stops, you'll also discover the most important highlights of Cologne's Old Town. Depending on the route, you'll see places like Alter Markt, the Historic City Hall, Tünnes and Schäl, and other well-known corners of Cologne. This way, you combine enjoying Kölsch with genuine city history.

4. End in the Heart of the Old Town

The tour concludes at Heumarkt, right in the heart of the Old Town. From there, you can continue exploring Cologne directly. Your guide will gladly offer personal recommendations, whether for the next brewery, a good restaurant, bars, or other tips for your stay.

Who is the Cologne brewery tour for?

Our Cologne brewery tour is perfect for anyone looking to experience Cologne, Kölsch beer, and the Old Town in a fun and relaxed way. It's particularly popular with groups of friends, travelers, birthday parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, companies, team events, clubs, and solo adventurers. The tour is ideal for first-time visitors to Cologne, as well as for those who want to rediscover the city and its unique brewery culture.

What is the difference between a public and a private brewery tour?

The public brewery tour takes place daily and is ideal for individuals, couples, smaller groups, and spontaneous bookings. Three Kölsch are included, you don't need to worry about a thing, and you'll experience the tour together with other guests.

With the private brewery tour, you have your own guide exclusively for your group and are flexible regarding the time, starting point, ending point, and, if desired, also the route and the brewhouses.

How does a brewery tour with you work?

Our brewery tour usually starts at Cologne Cathedral and lasts approximately two hours. During this time, you'll visit three to four brewhouses, sample various Kölsch brands, and get to know Cologne's brewery culture in a relaxed and entertaining way. Our guides will also share exciting, historical, and humorous stories from Cologne. Along the way, you'll also discover the highlights of the Old Town, such as Cologne Cathedral, Alter Markt, Tünnes and Schäl, Groß St. Martin, and Heumarkt.

What's included in the brewery tour?

Our public brewery tours include everything you need for a relaxed Kölsch experience in Cologne's Old Town: a local guide and three Kölsch per person. You can order additional drinks at any time during the tour.

For private brewery tours, drinks are not included as standard; however, we design the tour to be particularly flexible and, upon request, are happy to arrange individual drink packages for your group.

Which brewhouses will you see on the tour?

Cologne's Old Town is home to nine traditional brewhouses, and you'll typically visit three to four of them on the tour. Which ones are visited can vary depending on the guide, daily schedule, and group dynamics. Well-known brewhouses include Früh, Sion, Gaffel, Peters, Pfaffen, Mühlen, Gilden, and Sünner. If you have a particular brewhouse you'd especially like to see, please let us know in advance or at the latest at the start of the tour.

How long does the tour last and how much walking is involved?

The brewery tour lasts approximately two hours. Since the brewhouses in Cologne's Old Town are close to each other and there are several stops along the way, the walking distance is manageable. The Old Town can be crossed on foot in about 15 minutes, and our guides are happy to adjust the pace of the tour to your group.

Is the tour available in German and English?

Yes, our public brewery tours can be booked daily in German and English. We also offer private brewery tours flexibly in German or English. Other languages are available upon request, depending on guide availability.

Where do your brewery tours usually start?

Our brewery tours usually start at the Kreuzblume, right next to Cologne Cathedral. They typically end in the Old Town around Heumarkt. For private brewery tours, the start and end points can be flexibly adjusted upon request.

How last-minute can I book a brewery tour?

Last-minute bookings are no problem! You can book our public brewery tours up to one hour before the tour starts.

Can I cancel or rebook my booking free of charge?

Yes, you can cancel or rebook your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour starts. You can flexibly adjust the date, time, or number of participants. This way, you remain flexible if your plans change.
