How does a
Scavenger Hunt
work?
1. Meet right at the cathedral
We’ll start at the Kreuzblume right next to the Cologne Cathedral, right in the heart of Cologne. We’ll welcome you there, briefly explain how things will work, and divide you into small teams based on your group size. After that, you’ll know exactly what to expect and can jump right into the scavenger hunt together.

2. You’ll receive your scavenger hunt kit
Each team will receive a challenge sheet, a clipboard, and a pen. On the sheet, you’ll find about 15 tasks, puzzles, and small challenges related to Cologne, the Old Town, and Cologne culture.

3. Hunting for Points Through Cologne’s Old Town
After that, you’ll spend about 1.5 hours exploring on your own in small teams. You’ll search for well-known landmarks, solve puzzles, answer questions, complete small photo challenges, and collect points. For larger groups, different routes ensure that not all teams follow the same path.

4. Finale with an awards ceremony and Cologne goodies
At the end, you’ll meet up again at a designated meeting point near the Heumarkt. There, the results will be tallied, the winning teams will be announced, and the top finishers will receive small Cologne goodies. Afterward, you can wind down the day in a relaxed atmosphere in the Old Town.
